The writing was well done and I think I might have done myself a disservice by starting at book five.

The hole concept being intriguing, but the fact that I had no prior attachment to the characters was a bit of a drag. I wanted to get into their lives, but the whole introduction of the teenagers sat strange with me and there was more of that type of writing in the beginning instead of the introduction of the mystery and crime solving which I was more interested in.

This focus on Clare Point and the other characters just led to a slow read that didn't pick up until I was almost ready to give up on the novel. But, overall I did enjoy it and the interaction between Dallas and Aeden was fun. I think I might have to go back and start form book one, to give this one a fair shot.

Recommendations: Unlike me you should probably start at book one. Vampire fans, should enjoy. This is an adult romantic novel, as you can tell from the cover. Rating: 3. Sparks fly when he touches bar owner Dallas York, and she sees images from his past. He easily falls for Dallas and her autistic daughter Kenzie, but he's breaking the rules by doing so. He's not allowed to get involved with a human female.

Or before he kills someone else he loves? Kenzie is a special girl in more ways than one. You'll like the relationship between Aedan and Kenzie. There is a subplot involving Aedan's Aunt Peigi and her reborn husband Brian that also keeps Aedan busy. Forrest's world in Voracious is somewhat dark and unforgiving. Actions have consequences, and the ending is bittersweet. Jan 06, Molly Frenzel rated it liked it Shelves: gravetells-reviews. See the full Gravetells. Voracious is a worth a look! No compensation was received. May 23, Charlene rated it really liked it Shelves: author-forrest-vk , genre-vampires , genre-witches. What a fabulous and exciting addition to the Clare Point series!

The main characters were likeable, well written and defined, the overall plot was original and not "stale" as some books become in a series, there was just enough humor to balance out the terror, and it held my interest from the beginning to the very end. I can't really say much because I don't like to give away spoilers I always seem to dip my toe over that line , so I'll just say, if you haven't made up your mind yet about this What a fabulous and exciting addition to the Clare Point series! Jul 10, Nikki rated it did not like it. The book was really good, the looks into the psyche of the villain were excellent, the detail of the previous victims, perfection…. Completely fade to black.

It was like suspense blue balls! I seriously was incredibly upset and disappointed. I thought, the only way this is going to redeem itself is if there is an awesome fight scene with the villain who we have yet to even see.

Ravenous Clare Point Vampire Novels

It was a 1 page fight and then boom…dead. The ending was just completely out of character for the rest of the book. It was anti-climactic and abrupt. I give Voracious by V. Forrest 3 stars! May 11, Parajunkee rated it liked it Shelves: reviewed. PJV Quickie: Please take into account that this is book 5 in the series and I have not read the previous books, but intrigued by the cover and the fact that it appeared in my mailbox, by magic, I thought I would give it a try. Review Being my first trip to 'Clare Point' I didn't have a prior working knowledge of the characters and their unique vampireness, but I was instantly won over by Aedan Brigid and his clan of vampires.

These vampires are very different from anything I've read before, they are cursed, made into vampires, to live over and over again and protect humans from supernatural threats.

The concept of the world of Clare Point was very interesting and unique, but the overall play of the story was very complex. There were a lot of characters, which is very normal for a long standing series, but picking it up at five had me scratching my head at some points.

The main focus was the vampire Aeden and the human bartender Dallas.

Aedan, was supposed to be on a sabbatical, but when a woman is attacked, finds himself chasing a serial killer he has been searching the world for. The oddest thing about the book was the concept of the vampire. Immortal yes, but only because they keep being reborn as teenagers. So, they achieve old age and then die and are spit forth as teenagers and have to slowly recover their memories. What was odd about the situation was the fact that if a paired couple is split earlier, one could be much older than the other.

One in fact could be a very surly teenager, while the other is a matronly woman. Unfortunately an old serial rapist reappears and Aedan gets drawn in once again. Aeden is a detective of sorts in the clan and his goal is to basically eradicate evil. It was very tragic and odd all in one. The writing was well done and I think I might have done myself a disservice by starting at book five.
